Retro Vacation Photos {Sydney Harbor}

Sydney, Australia was one of the most beautiful cities I have visited. It was clean and new and modern. I loved the Opera House, it was incredible to go inside such a famous structure.

This post pretty much wraps up my Retro Vacation Photo Series. What a fun summer! I am so glad I was able to take some time to dig through my old photos, scan them all in, and remember these amazing trips.

Remember, its not a good vacation until you feed something out of the palm of your hand.

Retro Vacation Photos {New Orleans}

While most of my traveling in college was done with Missouri Southern State University, I did take one trip with my aunt an uncle to New Orleans. We stayed in the French Quarter so we were walking distance from lots of photo-ops. My aunt and uncle were newly into photography and it was fun to wander around the cemeteries taking pictures of the beautiful city from different angles. I'm sure we looked like tourists with all of our camera equipment, but we didn't care. (these were pre-katrina)

We were a little worried when this guy approached us. We were afraid he was going to try to rob us. But then he did a back flip....so we gave him some cash and he went away.

Out and about in Galveston, TX

10 Things to Know about Galveston:

1. In Galveston Texas it is nearly impossible to get lost.
2. The best way to see the Sea Wall Rd. is by bike.
3. You can get amazingly fresh sea food (and I'm not talking about Joe's crab shack)
4. The strand is a touristy place to shop, but there are some antique stores on Post Office road worth checking out.
5. The pleasure pier is a beautiful place to photograph
6. There is a lot of sea weed on the beach.
7. It is a city on stilts. Nearly all of the homes have been raised up. And most of them are beautifully painted in pastel colors!
8. It was hit by Hurricane Ike in 2008 but it is slowly rebuilding.
9. There are so many birds on the island....more than I remember seeing in Jamaica.
10. The free ferry is a great boat ride across the ship channel. Dolphins jump and birds flock around the boat.
