Prompt #21 Negative Space

I have been craving a good challenge lately. Over at the Creative Type there is a fun one this week.

I decided to use some of my new Earth Love Cosmo Cricket paper from Archiver's. It is divine. I LOVE it. Actually everything is from Earth Love...except the 'create' card...it is from 7Gypsies...and the little Matryoshka stamp...I can't remember where it is from....but it is a really cute set, I will look when I get home later.

Hope you are having a great day!

A cutie-pie layout!

Whew! Only 4 more days of summer school!!! We went camping over the weekend and the first thing I did (after a nap!) on Sunday afternoon was make some cards for next month's card swap! They turned out wonderful, but I will be posting them once it gets a little closer to the swap night. Today was one of those days...all I could think about was how much I wanted to come home and make a card! I made a bunch tonight!!

For now, I would like to share with you a great little layout I created for a challenge over @ The Creative Type. This week's challenge is to use a t-shirt as inspiration. I found this super cute shirt and it was a perfect way to combine some of my favorite pictures of my niece Taryn and some fun new glittery stuff that I have been itching to use somewhere.

Here is the shirt...It doesn't have any text, but the colors and butterfly were perfect for my pictures.

Here is my layout. I was excited to finally used this fun glittery butterfly lace paper from K. I. Memories.

The chipboard letters seemed to perfectly complement the key lime cardstock from CTMH.

Project 52 and The Numbers Game

The prompt this week over @ The Creative Type is to use numbers....

I decided to put together a little page using some of my favorite spring flower pictures and a countdown for the last weeks of school for a page in my project 52 album.

I used some chipboard #s and letters from the paper studio, some hambly screenprints & rubons...

Ooh, I should probably tell you that I received an Audrey (it is a little award for being a favorite...see my sidebar for the 'trophy' image) for my Twilight book...I am pretty stoked...I will be a guest designer again next week!

So happy this Birthday layout and Handwriting Analysis

Last night I decided to combine a bunch of things that I have been collecting over the last few weeks. I transferred some journaling from my birthday into my own handwriting and I included a Snapfish photo collage on this 2 page layout.

This layout is for 2 challenges. One is over @ the Creative Type blog. The challenge is to use a bunch of our handwriting and then do a handwriting analysis to see what our handwriting says about us....

Handwriting Analysis

What does your handwriting say about YOU?

I went over to the Handwriting Feedbucket site and here is what they said about my writing:
The results of your analysis say:

You plan ahead, and are interested in beauty, design, outward appearance, and symmetry.
You are a shy, idealistic person who does not find it easy to have relationships, especially intimate ones.
You are diplomatic, objective, and live in the present.
You are reserved, shy, cautious, and thoughtful.
You enjoy life in your own way and do not depend on the opinions of others.

This layout is also for the Scrapbook and Share blog. The challenge is for "National Scrapbooking Month and it is supposed to be a layout all about you! We want you to share your story with us, so put together your best two-page layout featuring…you! Send a JPEG photo of your layout and a description of how it is highlighting you, your life, your passions, your hobbies—whatever is the best way to tell your story."

The prize for winning is $150 in Close to My Heart Product....Also, did you know you could win a Tickled Pink scrapbook it just for leaving a comment on one of the layouts. EACH AND EVERY DAY, someone who leaves a comment will win a kit!!! Wow!! Go leave some love!!!

I included some funny stories and pictures to tell my story. The pictures were taken over the last year and a half and the stories are from my birthdays....Some are really funny....

yeah...I am a little nutty....this is only a small collection of all the photos on my computer of myself.....Go ahead, make fun of me.....

April and October

Two of my favorite months...but also two of my busiest months!!! Whew!!

I thought I would just post a quick picture of what I won over at The Creative Type Blog. This print is from the Blue Tree Art Gallery by the artist Leah Piken Kolidas. I won this print for my Love Letter page during their bonus Valentine's Day prompt.

This is such a cool print!! I can't wait to hang it in my house.

OH, and here is a little bag I made. I needed a little canvas tote for haulin' stuff around:

Memory Keeper box for my Cards

This week's color inspiration challenge is gorgeous!! I love brown and pink. Tonight I made this box for my cards using 2 challenge prompts. The first one of course is the color inspiration challenge and the second prompt I utilized is from The Creative Type blog. This week's prompt left me in stitches! The goal is to use stitching for the lettering on our creation. For the first time, I hand-stitched the lettering on my title. This totally reminded me of Jr. High home economics class.

One of the projects we had to do was make a pillow with hand embroidered names on the front. I got really into embroidery floss and hand stitching. My mom still has the pillow and it has names of my Jr. High classmates, some are first names, some are last names and some are nicknames. I don't even remember who the nicknames are or why they had that nickname...but it is lovingly stitched on the pillow.

I remember getting together with a friend to sew one Saturday afternoon. I threaded the big embroidery needle and realized that I forgot something like scissors. I was sitting on the bed with a friend and I set the pillow down and stuck the needle in the mattress and ran to get the scissors. When I came back I hopped back up on the bed and the eye of the needle went straight into my knee!!! I freaked out! The thread was sticking out and so was the pointy end of the needle. I sent my friend to get my dad. He came in with pliers and carefully pulled it out. I don't remember it being sore or hurting all that much, but it was pretty tramatic...I was in jr. high so every thing was so much more dramatic.

Needless to say, I took shop in high school and steered clear of home ec. Haha....shop is way more dangerous than sewing, but I had had enough! Now I wish I knew how to sew, I haven't threaded a sewing machine since jr. high, but I have used some major power tools so I guess that is a plus...

Anyway, I had fun stitching the letters and I did quite a bit of painting on this box. I mixed brown paint to make all of the elements coordinate. I really like how it turned out...even my husband said "WOW" when he saw me putting the finishing touches on it. Hope you enjoy!!
