Just for Fun Card

This card features the dryer sheet technique and a few new stamps that I bought while on a no-no shopping trip this weekend.....I spend waaaay too much money on supplies, and these owls are actually wooden stamps (I couldn't resist). Anyway, the dryer sheet technique is really easy. Basically, you stamp an image, cover it with adhesive, lay a recycled dryer sheet over it and sprinkle with glitter. I know this is one I will use again. Enjoy!

Saturday Movie Challenge #3

Okay....so I have put a lot of thought into this entry. I looked at the movie Saturday and did a little bit of planning yesterday. I couldn't just NOT do this Cinema Saturday Creative challenge. (Again....I haven't seen this movie either! I am super embarrassed....I know, I KNOW!....it is from my generation and this is just the sort of movie that I would've loved....but I never watched it....I had to look for clips and pics online for my ideas, again.)

The main inspiration that really stuck with me was the giant swirl in front of the moon. It is the kind of lasting image that resonates with a viewer. I don't have a lot of Halloween stuff....but I had one lonely pumpkin stamp (CTMH) and some black embossing powder. The heart is from Close to My Heart's chipboard shapes. I got to use my embossing pen and some chalk pastels on this project to add some color and depth to the overall card. I also layered the elements of the card with sticky dots and foam squares to give it some dimensional qualities. Anyway, I hand cut the spiral and used my Coluzal cutting system for the moon. Enjoy!

And, I must say...this card isn't totally a Halloween card with the added heart at the top...But I don't know if I will ever be able to give it away. I want to put it in a frame and enjoy it. I love the aesthetic of the giant swirl and the contrast with the moon...sort of merging Vincent Van Gogh with Tim Burton...

Color Inspiration Challenge #27

Here are a few cards for the KWernerDesignBlog color inspiration challenge....Enjoy!

Inspi[RED].
Go red baby.
Wow!! I love red. I made several cards last night using this great color. I didn't really use any pinks......But anyway, the flowers on the bottom card are a new find...I got them at Michaels....Prima Marketing Inc. is the brand...(I also got some beautiful turquoise flowers too)...The red embossing powder didn't go on perfectly as the picture shows, but in real life, it is kind of a cool rough look. The background stamp is from the Close to My Heart Stamp Set: Spot on Backgrounds....and the Santa stamp is from the Magical Christmas set. I used fun flock for his beard and a blending pen with cranberry in for his hat...I also used cranberry paper and some ribbon I had on hand for the cards. I am looking forward to making several more Christmas cards at a crop I am going to tonight!!

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge Card # 1

On of my favorite bloggers has started a new challenge site! Every Saturday a new movie inspired challenge will be posted. Check it out at Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge.

I am soo excited to post my card for their first challenge. What a great way to be inspired! This week's movie is Pride and Prejudice. I haven't seen the movie nor have I read the novel, but after watching tons of YouTube videos and trailers for both the 1995 and 2005 movies, I was thoroughly inspired.

In this card, I used some lace to mimic all of the ruffles from the movie, a chipboard shape, a pearl straight pin, and some scrap brown ribbon...I decided that it wouldn't be a good period piece without some gold embossing and a Jane Austen quote sticker from 7 Gypsies...the main stamps are from Close to My Heart (I have to pull out every stamp I have and look at them all to find the right ones) and the ink color is Chocolate. Thanks Sankari for a great challenge!!

October Fall and Halloween Cards!

Hello everyone!! It has been a little while. I decided to snap a picture of my most recent hostess gifts! My cousin Stormi was my first hostess of the month. She decided to host a gathering and it boosted her sales into the 3rd tier!! She got $60 dollars in free products, one half priced item, the Stamp of the month free, and the September National Stamping Month Constant Campaign for free. The rest of the cards below are inspired by my newest, most favoritest stamp sets. The Spot On Backgrounds and the Whoo Loves you sets. I basically went through my scrap box and pieced together my own color combos to get some simple fall and halloween cards. I gave them to all my customers from Stormi's gathering and my hostess of the month club members. Enjoy!!
