Blackberries.

Having picked wild blackberries before, this was my first experience with a 'you pick' berry farm. Luckily, I saw the sign advertising the fresh berries and made it down to pick on the very last day of the season. It was so hot Saturday morning; after only a few minutes the sweat was dripping down the middle of my back.

I literally took 100s of photos over the weekend....mostly random objects, but it felt good. This berry picking trip wasn't meant to be a photo outing, but it turned into one...and I really like some of the photos.

For a while, I felt like I was missing out on certain pleasures.... experiencing things only at lens length, always having my camera in between myself and whatever I was doing...so I took a break from carrying it everywhere. But lately, I've had my camera (and lens baby) with me at all times...and it feels good to be documenting again...too many times I just take one photo with my iphone, and it doesn't seem like I really capture the essence of the experience....like I can with my Nikon.

Now....I can't wait to make a blackberry cobbler.

Berry King Farm. if you want to check it out for yourself. Its just south of Reddings Mill.

Photo Walk with Lens Baby 2.0 Around Joplin

This week, the weather is predicted to be near perfection...

Sunny...

80 degrees...

Every.

Single.

Day.

And I am still in school...

But the evenings have been so nice. Perfect for a photo walk around the neighborhood.

I took these photos near my house in south Joplin, MO.

It has been almost one year since the May 22nd tornado...Lots of things have changed.

My favorite time of day: golden sunset light...

Fisheye Photo Outing

Even though I stayed in bed past 11 a.m. this morning and could've laid around in my pjs all day, I managed to force myself to join up with a little photo outing this afternoon.

One of my super special Christmas presents this year was a fish eye lens attachment for my Nikon camera. It is just a cheap little attachment, but I love using those kind of lenses because they give the digital a little bit of a lomo feel. I was also shooting with my Holga and Instagram on my iPhone 4.

I am excited to see how my Holga images turn out....I'm always nervous whenever I use 100 speed film.

Below you can see some of my favorites from today's shoot with the fish eye lens.

As grotesque as it looks, I could not stop filming this deer skull. I even made a little stop-motion video with it....

Robert let me bring it home. It is on the mantle now....should be a great source of inspiration. (A little O'keeffe in all of us, right?)

How many cameras does it take???
