I went into Michaels the other day with my sis to get supplies for the baby shower invites (just envelopes, really) and I noticed that some Martha Stewart stamps were on clearence. Normally, I only buy acrylic stamps from Close to My Heart, because they are just the best, but there was one stamp set that I just had to have. The airplane and the sail boat are just darling. I have been making a lot of card sets lately...I can't seem to make just one....I was going to make these for a swap, but I think I will keep them for myself. Enjoy!!
Ink: Colorbox chalk ink, craft and teal card bases, Martha Stewart stamps, buttons, CTMH Classmate alphabet.
your cards are so cute. tell me, are Martha's stamps acrylic? Do they take the ink like CTMH do? I tried some clear stamps from Michael's onetime and they wouldn't take the ink, in other words they didn't work!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute. I never use that classmate alphabet, it's actually really cute!
ReplyDeleteOkay, my honest assessment of the clear Martha Stewart stamps....While I liked the images, I found that the stamp set was not in high quality. When you open the packaging, you actually have to cut some of the stamps apart and they rip very easily when you are trying to peel off larger stamps. In addition, the smaller, more detailed lettering was fuzzy and unclear whenever I stamped it onto cardstock.
ReplyDeleteThe MS stamps also did not work well with the CTMH Exlusive INks dye-based ink pads. I could barely get any ink to stick to the surface of the stamp--esp. the large sailboat stamp.
The MS stamps seemed to work better with the colorbox chalk ink. The chalk ink stayed on the stamps very well and the images were actually pretty nice. I am using an old stamp pad set from school so I don't really care if the colors get mixed on the surface and I can do some layering and mixing.
I can not see myself with a large collection of the MS stamps in the future. I just REALLY liked the sailboat and the airplane.
SO cute! I love those images, and the colors and buttons are too fun!
ReplyDeleteVery cute cards, that stamp set would be perfect for a little boy too. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your little cards Nelie. Esp the way you have put the Thanks sentiment on lines.
ReplyDeleteI too have had clear stamps that will not take CTMH inks...When I tried them with other ink brands they did better.
BTW...I just love your blog header..don't ever change it LOL. I bet that would look great framed and hung on a wall!
Cuuuuute cards!!!!!
